The principle behind Kolmeks Service is simple: we service and repair equipment as extensively as possible and avoid replacing parts unnecessarily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Service can be carried out on-site at the customer\u2019s location, or alternatively, the pump can be sent to our service facility in Turenki. The approach is always tailored to the customer\u2019s needs. We stock spare parts for pumps that are up to 40 years old, and whenever possible, we also refurbish components that are no longer manufactured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How Does Pump Service Work in Practice?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The service process begins when the customer contacts us. A service request can be submitted via the service request form accessed through the QR code on the pump, by phone, or by email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the pump details and the nature of the fault have been identified, the most suitable course of action is agreed upon with the customer. If necessary, a service technician can visit the site, or the pump can be sent to Turenki using Kolmeks\u2019 contracted freight service for a more detailed inspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon arrival at the service facility, the pump is dismantled and thoroughly inspected. After the inspection, we contact the customer to discuss the findings and agree on the next steps.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

During the service process, the motor windings are tested and the electrical integrity of the motor is verified. The motor is fitted with new bearings, the shaft is polished, and shaft straightness is measured and confirmed. The mechanical seal is always replaced, with seal materials selected according to the operating conditions and the properties of the pumped medium when required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pump components are sandblasted, repainted, and refurbished as needed, while the impeller is balanced to ensure reliable operation. In most cases, components can be restored rather than replaced, resulting in substantial cost savings for the customer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once servicing is complete, the pump is returned to the customer in like-new condition with a two-year warranty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Example 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pump shown in the images above was sent to Kolmeks by the customer, and within three days it was ready to be returned to service. The only new parts required were the shaft seal and motor bearings, while the remaining components were refurbished to meet the condition of a new pump. As a result, the customer received a fully overhauled pump backed by the same warranty as an equivalent new unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The service of a pressure boosting pump includes disassembly of the hydraulic section, inspection of ceramic bearings, cleaning of components, reassembly, and replacement of the seal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lassi Kukkum\u00e4ki is a 27-year-old service technician at Kolmeks and a member of the company\u2019s pump service team. His responsibilities include pump servicing both at the factory and at customer sites, servicing Spirovent air separators, as well as sales of service kits and spare parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the best aspects of the job is its versatility. Mobile work and a wide variety of service locations continuously bring new situations into everyday work, ensuring that no two days are the same. Lassi especially values working in Turenki, where collaboration functions smoothly \u2013 when challenges arise, solutions are always found together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time of writing, Lassi has been with Kolmeks for three years. The job still offers plenty of opportunities to learn new things and take on interesting tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A strong foundation for his work in service has been built through a strong work ethic developed already during his teenage years on construction sites, as well as seven years of experience working in the dairy industry. His hobbies have also contributed to developing key skills for the job.
